MILTON KEYNES SALON HITS THE BEACH

The Stunning Beauty Co. is themed around the beach and holidays – as you would expect of a tanning and beauty salon – but Tanya has gone the extra mile, choosing décor and fixtures that really drive the theme home.

As well as the pink VW camper van front for one of her counters, Tanya chose a mural that matched, as you can see the photo at the top of this article (cropped to suit the location). She installed the mural behind the counter, giving the impression of actually being at the beach when you’re there. Tanya thinks it looks fantastic, and we agree.

I trust you’ll agree it’s the perfect setting for this particular wall mural. This is in my new tanning salon. I’m absolutely delighted with it.

If you’re in need of a tan or a little pampering and you’re in the Milton Keynes area you should pop along and see Tanya’s mural for yourself!

Big thanks to her for sharing this with us. Why not check out all our beach themed murals.

CHALK IT UP TO GOOD DESIGN

The look of chalk on blackboard is pretty unique and lends itself beautifully to creating amazing and very specific wall murals for your home or place of business. Because it’s black and white, a chalkboard mural compliments almost any existing décor too.

For us here at Wallbeard we think they look best in the kitchen but if you have the right design, they can look amazing in most rooms. We’ve pulled out some examples to show you. Let us know what you think.

Please note that all of these images are available in our Adobe Stock library, hence the watermark. Your finished wallpaper will be to the highest quality and have NO watermarks!

OH, THAT’S CLEVER! INNOVATIVE USE FOR A WALL MURAL

We love it when our customers share their wall murals with us. We love it even more when they’ve done something unusual with them!

Hannah used the photo above – one of her own – to create a mural for her kitchen that would serve as the splashback to her cooker. Having installed the mural as usual it was then covered with a sheet of glass fixed to the wall, a trick Hannah had seen on Pinterest.

So…what does she have to say about it?

The mural looks great. I had it made to go behind my glass splash-back in the kitchen. I’d seen it been done on Pinterest!  So thought I’d give it a go. I absolutely love it and have had so many comments from friends and family. It was so easy to put up and I am just in love with it. It finishes off my kitchen and adds a bit of my personality!

What a brilliant idea – We reckon if you’ve got the right photo you could use a Wallbeard wall mural to create a splashback like this all around the kitchen or even in the bathroom, perhaps in a shower cubicle or just above the bath. If you’re worried about using glass, clear acrylic would do just as good a job.

So there you have it – a Pinterest-inspired wall mural splashback idea for you to consider.

Remember, you can use your own photo, just like Hannah, or choose from hundreds of thousands from our library.

HOW TO MAKE A SMALL ROOM FEEL LARGER

Already beautifully done, the bathroom was clearly feeling too small for the couple, with Peter describing it as ‘our smallest room’.

They turned to Wallbeard to produce a wall mural that would make it feel much bigger. Having browsed our library for a suitable image they opted for the woodland scene at the top of this post.

We got to work straight away, using the dimensions provided by Peter to print the scene at the highest quality on their chosen wallpaper – Paste the Wall. The mural measured just over 2.8m wide and 2.3m tall comprising four panels in total. This is about average for the murals we produce.

We shipped the product on next day delivery as standard and Peter and Philippa installed it soon after.

So were they happy? Here’s what Peter had to say:

Thrilled with the woodland scene in our outside loo. Quality product. Our smallest room is now so much bigger!

Can’t say fairer than that! If you’d like a forest mural like this one, take a look here. Or you can upload your own photos here. Either way, it’s sure to make your smallest room feel much larger!

MOUNTAIN MURAL MOTIVATION FOR MARTIN

For cyclist Martin Dobbie the photo was perfect for a motivational Wallbeard wall mural for his garage. As Martin says himself:

As you’ll see from the picture it was just for my garage and I have just Blutacked it to my breeze block wall. It’s been there for months and friends like it. My cycling goal is to get up Sa Calobra in 35 mins hence the picture of Sa Calobra – I’ve since stuck a few Post It notes on it next to the riders in the picture as extra motivation!

Martin took the original image form our library and cropped it down to the right dimensions for the space in his garage, measuring 1.3m wide by 1.5 metres high. It now has pride of place surrounded by his cycling paraphernalia.

What does Martin think of our service?

Process was very easy and was surprised at how many pictures you had on the site. My original plan was to use a picture I had on my phone but didn’t need to in the end as I was spoiled for choice with the professional ones you had on your site…great service, great process and great product as far as I’m concerned.

Big thanks to Martin for his kind comments and best of luck to him on his goal to climb Sa Calobra in 35 minutes!

BETTER BATHROOM WALLPAPER

On one wall, at least!

A feature wall in a bathroom can be a very powerful thing. It can bring it to life. It can even change your mood when you’re in it.

A carefully chosen bathroom wallpaper positioned on the right wall. This is usually – but not necessarily – behind the bath so as to make it the central focus of the room. But it really depends on the size and layout of your bathroom. In this, the decision will be yours.

In this post, we’d like to give you some ideas for choosing the right mural.

Water

Bathrooms are all about water, from the shower to the bath to the sink, running water is the central theme and use of your bathroom. Opting for a wallpaper that reflects this can produce amazing results.

Underwater

For a more sedate, relaxing water themed mural it makes sense to dip below the surface and explore the wonders of the underwater world. You can turn your bathroom into a window to the depths or perhaps just paddle around the shallows…

Tranquillity

Our bathrooms are often the rooms we go to to get away from it all, wash away the stresses of the day with a long, hot bath. As such, it follows that the décor in our bathrooms should assist with this. Choosing a calming, tranquil image for your feature wall will feel as good as it looks.

Natural

As we’ve said, water is the overarching theme in any bathroom. But you may not want that to play through your entire décor. Instead you could choose to compliment it by introducing other natural themes.

Search: Sand / Stone / Wood

There is so much more you can do with your bathroom when you choose wallpaper – specifically photo wallpaper – over plain tiles. And this is just a fraction of the options open to you. Trick is to think outside the bath, get creative in your own style and make it work for you. What do you think? Would you go for a bathroom wallpaper mural in your home?
