Planet Earth is a beautiful place. No matter where you are in the world, there is beauty to be found. We thought we’d do a world tour to show you some of the most amazing sights – in the form of a wall mural. Obviously!
We start in Australia, home of natural and manmade wonders alike. And also the furthest point from where we sit right now. So…sit back and enjoy the first leg of the Wallbeard World Tour.
- Ayres Rock, otherwise known as Uluru, is a World Heritage site and one of the most recognisable natural phenomenon in Australia. Situated in the Northern Territories, the nearest town is Alice Springs…some 450km away, giving you an idea of the scale of the country!
- The world’s largest coral reef, the Great Barrier Reef sits off the coast of Queensland. Another World Heritage site in Australia, the Reef covers an amazing 34.87 hectares and is a truly stunning natural wonder.
- Thousands of species of marine life call the reef home, which is why the Australian government are working on ways to protect the reef from current environmental threats. We hope the Great Barrier Reef survives for many, many more years to come.
- Australia’s wildlife is iconic…including, of course, kangaroos and the loveable but actually vicious KOALA BEARS!
- Is this Australia’s most recognisable manmade wonder? We think so. This is, of course, the Sydney Opera House, resplendent in light in this particular picture.
- The Outback. Acres and acres of largely unpopulated land in Australia’s interior. The word ‘vast’ was surely invented for this remarkable region.
- With so little pollution of the light and toxic variety within Australia, the night skies above the Outback are beautiful to behold and, like the rest of the images in this article, make for amazing wallpaper murals!
Everyone, we think, has they’re favourite country, whether it’s your own or one you have or would love to visit. Which one is yours? And what do you love about it? Perhaps it could make for a feature wall in your home or office…
